Lucid Dreaming?

Sorry if this story is long or boring, it's just a good thing to be able to talk about these experiences with others who have been part of it. This is not a story about myself, but my boyfriend of 6 years at that time. We live in Australia and since coming into my family he has been introduced into viewing life on a different level rather than your average get up and go, 9-5 kind of work life. This encounter happened as we were both asleep in the early hours of the morning. We both were living at his parent's house and his room is at the start of the hall separated from the rest of the siblings' bedrooms. I awoke the next morning to my boyfriend freaking out, telling me tat he had tried to wake me up for what felt like hours, that previous night, he said he had woken from this feeling or urge to wake up and when he opened his eyes he couldn't move his body or make a sound from his mouth. He tried to poke me on the side and he said he tried screaming as loud as he could but no sound was coming out. He then went on to tell me that as he was laying there trying to wake me, he saw these shimmering bright lights in the shape of small diamonds creating one large diamond shape and it was pure white light, he mentioned it strained his eyes trying to keep eye contact with it, then it slowly dissipated as it came, lasting a mere 3-4 minutes. To this day he has never had another encounter like that but has always wondered why and how it all happened. Over the years he has had encounters with the paranormal and other strange occurrences but nothing ever within the likes of lucid dreaming or astral projection. Thanks for reading!:)
